Sunflower Hemp Mylk


Store bought nut and seed mylks have achieved the rank of processed food. Homemade nut or seed mylks taste better and no one will miss the sugar or additives. Use a nut mylk bag to strain the solids out of the mylk. Rawguru.com sells a good one.

1/2 cup sunflower seeds soaked overnight 3 Tbsp. hemp seeds 3 cups water 1 pitted date, if additional sweetness is desired.

Drain sunflower seeds. Blend all ingredients in high speed blender until emulsified. Strain through a nut mylk bag.

To warm the mylk, pour desired amount into a heat safe glass container such as a Mason jar or Pyrex measuring cup. Bring some water to a boil in a pot large enough to hold the container. Remove the pot from the heat and place the container in the water. Allow to stand for 5 minutes to warm the mylk.
