Chai Spiced Almond Milk

1 cup raw almonds (soaked overnight)

4 cups filtered water

1/2 tsp. cinnamon

1/4 tsp. cloves

2 anise stars

1/4 tsp. nutmeg (freshly ground — makes a huge difference)

10 pods green cardamom

1/4 tsp. ground pepper

1/3 cup dates, pitted and halved (Sweeter Still Phase) or liquid stevia drops to taste (Metabolic Reset Phase)

Drain soaked almonds and discard soak water.

Combine all ingredients in a high speed blender, such as a Vitamix. Blend until smooth, about 2 minutes. Taste and adjust spices to your liking.

Pour into a nut milk bag and squeeze out milk. Discard pulp and place flavored milk into a sealed bottle or container. It will keep 3-4 days in the fridge.

You can drink this milk as is on it’s own, or it is great to add to tea.
